Ipokia, Ogun State—
The Alado Empowerment Foundation, founded by renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, Chief Ibrahim Kilanko Olalowo, popularly known as Alado, has officially unveiled its 2026 empowerment initiative, reaffirming its commitment to uplifting the less privileged and expanding opportunities for Nigerian youths.

The 2026 edition of the foundation’s empowerment programme, which took off on January 3, 2026, at Idimarun, Ipokia Local Government, Ogun State, is designed to provide sustainable support across critical sectors, including education, health, sports, leadership development, and livelihoods, with a strong emphasis on youth empowerment and community development.

Speaking on the vision behind the foundation, Chief Olalowo said the Alado Empowerment Foundation was established to serve as a catalyst for social change by addressing the root causes of unemployment and poverty in Nigeria.

“Our goal is to empower the less privileged and equip young Nigerians with practical skills, opportunities, and the confidence to build meaningful livelihoods,” Olalowo said. “We believe that empowering youths is the most effective way to secure the future of our communities and our nation.”

A major highlight of the 2026 initiative is the foundation’s renewed focus on entrepreneurship and skill acquisition, with plans to provide hands-on training in technology, fashion, and business development. Beneficiaries of the programmes will also receive mentorship and start-up support funding to help graduates translate their skills into viable enterprises.

Beyond individual empowerment, the foundation has expressed readiness to partner with government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), private institutions, and international development bodies to implement large-scale programmes aimed at reducing youth unemployment and fostering economic inclusion.

According to the foundation, such collaborations are crucial to achieving long-term impact and aligning empowerment efforts with national development goals.

The Alado Empowerment Foundation also reiterated its willingness to support government and private sector initiatives that promote social welfare, youth development, and community growth, noting that sustainable development requires collective responsibility.
In line with its inclusive approach, the foundation has opened its doors to support from individuals, corporate organisations, and public institutions willing to contribute resources toward improving the lives of disadvantaged persons and underserved communities across Nigeria.

Observers say the Alado Empowerment Foundation’s growing footprint in grassroots development reflects a rising role of private philanthropy in addressing socio-economic challenges, particularly at a time when many young Nigerians are seeking practical pathways to self-reliance.
