The Federal Government has declared Thursday, May 1st, 2025, as a public holiday to commemorate this year’s International Workers’ Day.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who said the holiday is in recognition of the contributions of Nigerian workers to national development.
He urged workers across the country to reflect on the significance of the day and rededicate themselves to excellence, productivity, and patriotism in their various fields of endeavor.
International Workers’ Day, also known as Labour Day, is celebrated globally on May 1st every year to honor the achievements of workers and advocate for their rights and welfare.
