The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will close on Saturday, March 8, 2025. The board has urged all prospective candidates to complete their registration before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

JAMB, in its latest bulletin, emphasized that there will be no extension of the deadline, as preparations are in full swing for the conduct of the examination. The UTME, which serves as a prerequisite for admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education, commenced its registration process on Monday, February 3, 2025.

Meanwhile, the board has also confirmed that registration for Direct Entry (DE) admissions will commence on Monday, March 10, 2025, and will close on Monday, April 7, 2025. The DE process is meant for candidates seeking admission into universities through A-level qualifications, National Diploma (ND), National Certificate in Education (NCE), or equivalent qualifications.

JAMB has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a smooth registration and examination process, warning prospective candidates against patronizing fraudulent websites or individuals claiming to process UTME and DE registrations on behalf of the board. Candidates are advised to visit only approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers and JAMB’s official website (www.jamb.gov.ng) for accurate and up-to-date information.

Additionally, the board has cautioned candidates against multiple registrations, stating that such actions will lead to automatic disqualification. It also encouraged applicants to carefully follow the guidelines to avoid common errors that may hinder their participation in the exam.

As the March 8 deadline approaches, education stakeholders, including parents, school administrators, and guidance counselors, have been urged to assist students in completing their registrations in time.

With preparations already in top gear, JAMB has assured Nigerians of a seamless 2025 UTME and Direct Entry process, reinforcing its resolve to maintain credibility and transparency in Nigeria’s tertiary admission system.
