Prominent Nollywood actor Damola Olatunji has stirred discussions among fans and industry stakeholders by celebrating the birthday of his ex-wife and colleague, Oluwabukola Grace Awoyemi, better known as Bukola Arugba. The actor took to his social media platform to extend warm wishes to the mother of his twin children, a gesture that has captured widespread attention.

In his post, Olatunji wrote:
“Happiest birthday OLUWABUKOLA GRACE OMO AWOYEMI… sending you positive energy and good vibes on your special day. Happy Birthday ANIKE (mama ibeji Taiwo and Kehinde OLATUNJI).”

The heartfelt message has been met with a wave of reactions from fans and admirers, many commending the actor’s maturity and continued respect for his former spouse.

One fan, identified as Tunde Adetayo, commented, “This is what co-parenting should look like. Respect and love for the sake of the children.” Another fan, Damilola Johnson, remarked, “It’s beautiful to see them still maintaining a cordial relationship despite their separation. They are setting an example for others.”

Bukola Awoyemi, who turned 36 on December 19, 2024, is a celebrated actress, model, filmmaker, and brand influencer in the Nigerian movie industry. She gained prominence for her role in the iconic 2008 film Arugba, directed by legendary filmmaker Tunde Kelani. In the film, she played Adetutu, a young woman burdened with the responsibility of performing the sacred role of an ‘Arugba’ at the Osun Osogbo festival. The role showcased her acting prowess and remains a reference point in her career.

Aside from Arugba, Awoyemi has featured in notable productions such as Ago Alaago (2021) and Lakatabu (2024), further cementing her place in Nollywood.

Fans of both actors have expressed hope for reconciliation, while others have praised their co-parenting dynamic. Olatunji and Awoyemi share a set of twins, Taiwo and Kehinde, whose welfare remains a priority for the duo despite their separation.

A fan page dedicated to the actress, Bukola Arugba Lovers, posted, “We admire how these two have managed their differences privately while showing love and respect publicly. Happy Birthday, our Queen!”

Industry insiders have also weighed in on the actor’s public display of affection. A Nollywood producer who wished to remain anonymous stated, “Their relationship is proof that maturity and professionalism can exist even after a breakup. It’s a lesson for many.”

The birthday celebration has reignited conversations about the pair’s relationship and their contributions to Nollywood. Many fans continue to celebrate Bukola Awoyemi’s achievements while applauding Damola Olatunji’s thoughtful gesture.

As Nollywood enthusiasts eagerly await their next projects, the duo’s commitment to co-parenting and mutual respect remains a shining example in the entertainment industry.
