Lafia, Nasarawa State – June 25, 2025

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday visited Nasarawa State where he officially inaugurated a series of infrastructure projects executed by Governor Abdullahi Sule, including the much-anticipated Lafia Flyover.

Addressing a large crowd of residents, traditional leaders, and state officials during the commissioning ceremony in the state capital, President Tinubu praised Governor Sule for what he described as “visionary and people-centered leadership,” noting that the projects were a testament to good governance and strategic investment in the state’s development.

“This flyover is not just concrete and steel; it is a symbol of the unity and progress that this administration is committed to bringing to all Nigerians,” Tinubu said. “Governor Sule is setting a pace worthy of emulation by other states, and I commend his dedication to service delivery and infrastructural advancement.”

The Lafia Flyover, strategically constructed to decongest traffic within the city and boost commercial activities, is part of a broader urban renewal initiative embarked upon by the Nasarawa State Government. The project, according to officials, will ease vehicular movement across key junctions and serve as a catalyst for socio-economic growth in the state capital and beyond.

In his remarks, Governor Abdullahi Sule expressed gratitude to the President for honoring the invitation and for the federal government’s support in various sectors of the state. He highlighted the administration’s focus on roads, healthcare, education, and rural development as part of efforts to improve the lives of the citizens.

“Today’s commissioning marks a major milestone in our efforts to reposition Lafia and Nasarawa State for sustainable growth,” Governor Sule said. “We are grateful to Mr. President for his presence and continued partnership in our development journey.”

Among other projects inaugurated during the visit were new road networks, healthcare facilities, and educational infrastructure, reflecting the Sule administration’s multisectoral approach to governance.

The President’s visit was also marked by interactions with community leaders and youth groups, who pledged their support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Security was visibly heightened throughout Lafia, with excited residents lining the streets to welcome the President’s convoy, waving banners and chanting songs of solidarity.
