Renowned Nollywood actress and producer, Regina Daniels, has achieved a new milestone by graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad Azteca in Mexico. The actress, who is also a mother of two, announced her accomplishment through a video shared on her verified Instagram account, showcasing her certificate during the graduation ceremony alongside her colleagues.

Regina Daniels, married to Nigerian businessman and philanthropist Ned Nwoko, expressed immense gratitude for her journey, attributing her success to perseverance, determination, and divine favor. She shared a heartfelt message on her social media handle, acknowledging the unwavering support of her family and loved ones.

In her post, Daniels wrote:
“Another achievement unlocked, Bachelor in Psychology bagged. This moment is more than a milestone; it’s a testament to countless hours of hard work, determination, resilience, and God’s love. I am super proud of myself! I often confidently say I am God’s favorite, and it’s no cap.

“Thank you, my darling hubby, for your unwavering support, love, and encouragement. To my treasure, Nnem, thank you for always being my backbone. I love you, mummy. Here’s to new beginnings and endless possibilities!”

Her announcement has sparked diverse reactions from fans and critics alike, with some lauding her determination and others questioning the credibility of her educational journey.

Mixed Reactions from Nigerians

While many congratulated Daniels on her achievement, a few social media users questioned how she managed to juggle her acting career, family life, and studies.

Norma Oakley, a fan, celebrated the actress, saying, “Congratulations, my favorite actress! The sky is the limit. Show your haters that even though you might marry a rich man, you still have the ambition to fulfill your goals. Keep shining like the diamond that you are because, ‘if God is for us, who can be against us?’”

On the other hand, critics like Israel Adichie voiced skepticism: “When did she attend classes? All this while, she has been with her husband and dealing with co-wife drama. This school has to explain when she wrote exams and attended lectures.”

Victor Ejike Okoronkwo added humor to the discourse, stating, “Una don leave Benin Republic; it’s now Mexican universities. This one will be a BSc in three days, unlike Benin Republic, which takes one week.”

Amid the mixed reactions, others, like Precious Odi, offered a tongue-in-cheek congratulatory message: “As one of the founding fathers of Psychology, I hereby congratulate Regina for developing her mind within the spheres of psychology. This achievement gives her an edge over her co-wives within the Ned Nwoko circle.”

Questions on Foreign Degrees

Daniels’ achievement also reignited debates on the validity of foreign degrees obtained through online or unconventional platforms. Some questioned if such qualifications would meet requirements like the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Nigeria.

Amaka Baa asked, “Can someone be eligible for NYSC after an online degree? Asking for those contemplating.”

Despite the differing opinions, Regina Daniels’ academic feat underscores her ability to balance her career, education, and family responsibilities. As she ventures into new possibilities with her psychology degree, the actress continues to inspire young Nigerians to pursue their dreams against all odds.

Regina Daniels’ graduation adds another layer to her illustrious career, proving that even in the demanding world of entertainment, personal development and education remain attainable. Whether celebrated or critiqued, her achievement has undoubtedly sparked conversations on the evolving paths to academic success.
