Kizz Daniel

By Ibrahim Kegbegbe

As Kizz Daniel’s fans have been clamoring for more hits and asking why he has not been seen with new music at the moment, The Merit Newspaper has come to narrate why Kizz Daniel has been on a low-key for a while—and why there is a possibility that he might remain so until 2026.

The award-winning Afrobeats star, known for delivering chart-topping songs, recently broke his silence, revealing that he will not be releasing any new music until 2026. This revelation came amid speculations about his absence from social and traditional media.

Kizz Daniel’s Official Announcement

Kizz Daniel, whose real name is Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, made the announcement on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, telling his fans to enjoy his latest project, Uncle K, because it would be his last release until 2026.

“After this, I no dey drop anything again until 2026,” he posted, sparking reactions across social media platforms.

For many fans who had been wondering about his whereabouts, this was both a relief and a disappointment—relief that he was safe and doing well, but disappointment that they would have to wait two years for new music.

Personal Tragedy Behind His Silence

Beyond music, Kizz Daniel has also been dealing with personal challenges. He recently lost his mother-in-law to breast cancer, a tragedy that deeply affected him and his family.

In an emotional message, the singer requested prayers, stating, “This year has been tough, but family first always.” Sources close to the artist reveal that this loss played a major role in his decision to step away from the spotlight for a while.

Fans’ Reactions to His Absence

Kizz Daniel’s absence from social media had been a trending topic among his fans, with many asking why he had been so quiet. Some speculated that he was working on a major project, while others feared he was facing personal struggles.

Now that the truth is out, fans have taken to social media to react. One fan wrote, “We understand, Kizz! Take your time, but don’t keep us waiting too long.” Another added, “2026 is far, but we’ll be here when you return.”

What Next for Kizz Daniel?

While Kizz Daniel has announced a break from music releases, entertainment experts believe he may still be active in other areas of the industry. Music critic, Femi Olawale, shared his thoughts on the situation:

“Kizz Daniel is one of the most consistent hitmakers in Afrobeats. This break might be a strategic move to build anticipation for his next big project,” he said.

Although fans may not get new songs from him anytime soon, they remain hopeful that the Buga crooner will return stronger, as he has always done in the past. Until then, Kizz Daniel remains one of Nigeria’s most celebrated music stars, even in his absence.
