The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) for the 2027 general election, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, has named Ibrahim Adamu Bala as his running mate, completing the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the polls.
The development marks a significant milestone in the APM’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election, as the party positions itself to challenge the country’s major political parties.
Ibrahim Adamu Bala, a native of Bauchi State, is expected to complement Makinde’s presidential bid by strengthening the party’s reach across the northern region of the country. His emergence reflects the APM’s efforts to build a nationally balanced ticket capable of appealing to voters across Nigeria’s diverse political and geographical landscape.
Party sources indicated that Bala’s nomination has been duly submitted through the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal, signifying the formal completion of the party’s presidential ticket in line with electoral requirements.
Political observers believe the selection of Bala underscores the APM’s determination to present a formidable and inclusive team for the 2027 presidential election, while also reinforcing its commitment to national unity, equitable representation, and effective governance.
With the presidential ticket now complete, attention is expected to shift to the party’s nationwide campaigns, policy engagements, grassroots mobilisation, and consultations aimed at expanding its support base ahead of the general election.
The Merit Newspaper reports that the announcement has generated discussions within political circles, with analysts closely watching how the APM intends to market its presidential ticket and convince Nigerians of its vision for economic growth, security, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and national cohesion.
