Agege, Lagos — Wednesday, February 18, 2026

The Mudirul Markaz, Sheikh Muhd Habibullah Adam El-Lory, has urged Muslims and Nigerians at large to embrace strategic planning, unity and purposeful organisation in the face of challenges, declaring that organisation remains the strongest response to conspiracy and treachery.

Sheikh El-Lory made the call while delivering a thought-provoking message at the Markaz Agege Ramadan Tafseer 2026/1447 A.H, held on Wednesday as part of the institution’s Ramadan spiritual activities.

Speaking in Yoruba during the Ramadan Tafsir, the renowned Islamic scholar said:
“Ti won ba n ṣe ọ̀tẹ̀, ẹ̀yin ẹ máa sètò. Ètò ni yóò já ọ̀tẹ̀.”

He explained that resilience—both at individual and communal levels—is not found in panic or reactionary behaviour, but in deliberate planning, discipline and collective organisation.

Translated into English, the statement means:
“If they are plotting treachery, you should keep organising, because strategy is what defeats treachery.”

Further simplifying the message for broader understanding, Sheikh El-Lory added that when others are scheming, people should not panic but rather organise themselves, noting that planning remains the most effective tool against conspiracy.

The Ramadan Tafseer, which marked the commencement of Ramadan activities at Markaz Agege, attracted Islamic scholars, community leaders and worshippers from across Nigeria. Many attendees described the message as timely, particularly in view of the country’s prevailing political, economic and social challenges.

The Merit Newspaper reports that while some Nigerians—especially within the Muslim community in Yorubaland—may perceive the message as directed at a particular Islamic sect, the Tafseer logically reflects a broader call for strategic thinking, unity and organisation within Nigeria’s current realities.

Sheikh El-Lory concluded by encouraging Muslims to use the Ramadan period not only for fasting and prayers, but also for deep reflection, discipline and purposeful organisation in both personal and communal affairs.
