Nigerian gospel singer Alayo Melody has urged his colleagues to strengthen their relationship with God and remain guided by their spiritual convictions following the death of fellow musician Toluwanisings.
Melody, who spoke in a video shared on Instagram, disclosed that some gospel artistes had contacted him to express fears about the possibility of further deaths within the music community. He urged them not to allow anxiety to overshadow their faith and professional responsibilities.
The singer said Toluwanisings’ death was particularly painful because he had been scheduled to perform alongside the late musician at an event the following week. He also disclosed that they had outstanding discussions before the tragedy, while praying for comfort and strength for the deceased’s wife, children and loved ones.
Advising gospel musicians, Melody cautioned against accepting every invitation to minister merely to satisfy event organisers or avoid disappointing people. He encouraged them to consider their personal convictions and decline engagements when they felt uncomfortable.

“It’s better to offend people than offend yourself. It’s impossible to satisfy or please everyone,” Melody said, emphasising the importance of setting personal boundaries in the pursuit of a music career.
