Lagos, Nigeria -October 29, 2026

Facebook has partnered with popular Nollywood filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele to promote her forthcoming movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone, through its London and Lagos premieres, in a move aimed at taking Nigerian storytelling to a wider global audience.

The partnership, announced on Thursday, October 29, 2026, will support the film’s world premiere in London and its homecoming premiere in Lagos, bringing together filmmakers, digital creators, celebrities and audiences to celebrate Nigerian cinema.

According to the announcement, the collaboration will highlight how Facebook helps creators connect with fans, build communities and share Nigerian stories and culture with audiences beyond the country’s borders.

Oluwasola Obagbemi, Meta’s Head of Communications for Sub-Saharan Africa, said the partnership reflects Facebook’s role in helping creators expand their reach, strengthen relationships with followers and earn money from original content shared on the platform.

Obagbemi added that the initiative would celebrate creators shaping culture while encouraging more people to produce original and engaging content for wider audiences.

Akindele, who has built a strong reputation in Nigeria’s film industry as an actress, producer and director, welcomed the partnership, expressing excitement about the opportunity to introduce African stories to more people around the world.
