Wasilat Odetola; Ijoba Fuji

The Odetola family has another reason to celebrate as Alhaja Wasilat Odetola, daughter of the legendary Fuji musician Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Odetola, popularly known as Pasuma Wonder or Oganla Fuji, marks her birthday today, January 22, 2025.

Fans and Fuji music lovers have taken to social media to shower prayers and well-wishes on Wasilat, describing 2025 as her year of greater blessings. Many also extended their gratitude to God for the continuous prosperity of her father, Pasuma, who has remained a household name in the Nigerian music industry for decades.

Social media platforms have been flooded with goodwill messages, with many fans pointing out the unique coincidence between the birthdays of the father and daughter. Pasuma celebrated his 57th birthday on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, while Wasilat’s birthday also falls on a Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

This detail has sparked reflections among fans, who noted that Wednesdays are often associated with the “mercy of God,” expressing their belief that divine favor will continue to abide with the Odetola family.

Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, fondly referred to as the “Ijoba Fuji” (Government of Fuji), remains a celebrated icon in the Nigerian music industry. Over the years, his music has transcended generations, endearing him to both older and younger audiences, while his family has gained admiration for their unity and success.

As Wasilat adds another year, fans and well-wishers continue to celebrate with her, affirming their hopes for God’s unending blessings on the family of the renowned Fuji maestro.
