Prince Isaac Fayose, businessman and younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has sparked discussions on financial stability in old age after offering financial assistance to the father of popular Nigerian musician, Asake.

In a viral social media post, Fayose requested Asake’s father’s bank account details, stating his intention to send him N500,000.

“Please, I need @asakemusic father’s account number make I send him 500k. The man is not looking too good. 😭😭😭 Man no be God,” he wrote.

Accompanying his post was a video in which Fayose reflected on the challenges elderly men face when they do not secure financial stability during their working years. He described Asake’s father’s situation as a “big lesson to all fathers,” urging men to plan ahead and build sustainable wealth to avoid hardship in their later years.

His remarks have since ignited conversations about the responsibilities of successful children toward their aging parents, as well as broader concerns about financial planning and economic security for retirees in Nigeria.

Asake, a fast-rising Afrobeats star signed to YBNL Nation, has not publicly responded to Fayose’s offer. However, his father’s reported condition has drawn sympathy from fans and social media users, with many debating the societal expectations surrounding wealth and family obligations.

Fayose’s gesture has also been met with mixed reactions. While some praised him for his generosity, others questioned whether making such assistance public was necessary.

The incident sheds light on the economic struggles faced by many elderly Nigerians and the need for long-term financial planning to ensure a secure future.
