In what is now being hailed as one of the most iconic and unconventional celebrity weddings in recent Nigerian history, Priscilla Ajoke Ojo, the daughter of Nollywood superstar Iyabo Ojo, has taken matrimonial celebration to an entirely new level — with not one, not two, but three grand wedding events across two African countries.

The multi-phased celebration, which began some months ago with a stunning ceremony in Tanzania, continued in Nigeria, and has now returned to Tanzania for a final lap, has turned heads across the continent — sparking conversations about cross-border love, celebrity opulence, and cultural pride.

From the Shores of Tanzania to the Heart of Nigeria

The wedding saga kicked off with an intimate destination ceremony in Tanzania, where Priscilla and her groom said their initial “I do’s” amidst serene beaches, luxurious settings, and East African charm. The event was classy and private, attended by select guests and celebrities, setting the tone for what would become a transcontinental love celebration.

Upon returning to Nigeria, the couple embraced their Yoruba roots in a vibrant traditional engagement in Lagos. The Nigerian celebration was a rich cultural display — gele, agbada, aso-oke, and the booming rhythm of talking drums. It was everything a traditional Yoruba wedding should be: colourful, emotional, and unforgettable.

A-list Nollywood celebrities, including Mercy Aigbe, Toyin Abraham, and dozens of other stars, turned out in style. The atmosphere was both festive and sentimental, as the Ojo family opened their hearts — and doors — to the public and media, inviting everyone to share in their joy.

Back to Tanzania: A Wedding Like No Other

Just when fans thought the celebration had reached its grand finale, Iyabo Ojo and her close circle of celebrity friends, including screen queen Funke Akindele, flew back to Tanzania on Monday, May 26, for the concluding part of the wedding — expected to hold this week.

Sources close to the family describe this final celebration as a symbolic closure to what has now become a wedding of historic proportions.

“This is not just a destination wedding; it’s a celebration of African unity and family legacy,” said a friend of the family. “Priscilla and her husband have created a unique path, and it’s inspiring a lot of young people.”

Indeed, the Tanzania–Nigeria–Tanzania sequence has turned the event into what some are calling a rare masterpiece in the history of cross-country weddings — showcasing not only personal love but also a strong connection between two African cultures and landscapes.

A Celebration Beyond Borders

While the Ojo family has yet to release an official statement about the reasons behind the triple celebration, industry watchers believe it reflects a deep commitment to both modern elegance and cultural integrity.

The first Tanzanian ceremony radiated calm luxury — an influencer’s dream wedding. The Lagos traditional engagement was a tribute to their Yoruba heritage. Now, this concluding Tanzanian chapter is expected to be an all-white, beachside festivity that seals the couple’s union with finality and flair.

Social media has remained abuzz with clips, photos, and congratulatory messages
