In a bold and unexpected move that has sparked fresh excitement in the Nigerian fuji music scene, rising star Raheem Tirimisiyu Alamu, popularly known as Tiri Leather, is making waves with his latest album, “Tiri O’Clock“, now trending on Audiomack with over 100,000 plays as of July 9, 2025.

Tiri Leather, known by his honorary titles “Leather, The Senate President” and Oganla Senate President 1 (OSP1), has outpaced several fuji heavyweights with the immediate digital traction of his new release.

In contrast, veteran Fuji act Taye Akande Adebisi, better known as Taye Currency (Apesin 1), recently released his own project titled “Wón Ní Wón Pé”, which has gathered around 10,000 plays on Audiomack as of the same date. Taye Currency, revered as the Olori Ebi Oganla, remains a household name in the genre and commands a strong following among traditional fuji music lovers.

Both artists are notable protégés of Fuji legend Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, affectionately known as Oganla Fuji and Ijoba Fuji, whose influence has shaped the careers of many younger talents in the industry. Pasuma, a pioneer of modern Fuji fusion, continues to mentor and collaborate with upcoming voices who embody the evolving sound of the genre.

Speaking to fans on social media and in various Fuji circles, the Pasuma Fans Club (PFC) has lauded Tiri Leather’s meteoric rise, calling it a refreshing injection of energy into the scene. Many fans believe this momentum solidifies his place as a future force in the industry.

As a testament to his rising profile, Tiri Leather is set to embark on a UK tour this July, joining his mentor Pasuma for a series of performances across several cities in the United Kingdom. Confirmed stops include London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, and Glasgow, where a mix of nostalgic classics and fresh tracks is expected to light up stages.

Sources close to the tour organisers say that both artists will be showcasing new material as well as collaborative performances, bringing the rich cultural essence of Fuji music to an international audience.

“This is not just a tour,” one fan said on social media, “it’s a generational transition. Tiri Leather is the future of Fuji, and with Pasuma backing him, the sky is the starting point.”

The UK tour comes at a time when digital platforms like Audiomack are redefining success metrics in Nigerian music. The streaming milestone achieved by Tiri Leather underscores a shift in how younger audiences consume traditional sounds, with mobile apps and global access accelerating artist visibility.
