LAGOS, NIGERIA — JULY 28, 2025:

It was a moment of joy and honour on Monday as Sergeant Adewuyi Nureni Adewale of the Nigeria Police Force was decorated with his new rank of Inspector in a modest but dignified ceremony held at Ojodu Berger, Lagos.

The promotion and decoration were officiated by renowned industrialist and philanthropist, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, in the presence of fellow officers, newly promoted inspectors, community members, and well-wishers.

While pinning the new rank on Inspector Adewuyi’s uniform, Ambassador Ajadi praised his unwavering dedication to national service and urged him to uphold the integrity and responsibility that come with higher rank.

“This promotion is a testament to your years of hard work, discipline, and sacrifice in service to our nation,” Ajadi said. “I pray that this is not your final promotion. You will rise to greater heights in good health and abundant prosperity, by God’s grace.”

Ambassador Ajadi, who has been a consistent advocate for security sector reform and youth empowerment in Nigeria, also used the opportunity to call for more public support for the Nigeria Police Force.

“We must continue to support and appreciate our officers. The police are not just law enforcers—they are protectors of peace in our communities,” he added. “When we celebrate their successes and encourage their progress, we motivate them to serve us better.”

Ambassador Ajadi, known for his philanthropy and passion for good governance, urged the federal government to improve the welfare of police officers and equip them with modern tools for effective service delivery.

“Security is the backbone of national development,” he noted. “We must give our men and women in uniform every support they need to succeed.”

Inspector Adewuyi, visibly moved by the honour, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and promised to redouble his efforts in ensuring peace and justice in his line of duty.

“This is one of the proudest moments of my life,” Adewuyi said. “I thank God, the police authorities, and especially Ambassador Ajadi for this honour. I will continue to serve with integrity, courage, and the fear of God.”

The ceremony was attended by several other newly promoted officers and community members who congratulated the new inspector and praised Ajadi’s continued efforts to support public institutions and community security initiatives.

Residents of Ojodu Berger commended the initiative, describing it as a morale booster for officers who often go uncelebrated despite their sacrifices.

This public show of support for law enforcement comes at a time when the Nigeria Police Force is undergoing reforms to improve professionalism, welfare, and public trust.

Inspector Adewuyi’s promotion and decoration serve as a symbol of hope for many junior officers who continue to serve with commitment, often under challenging conditions.

The ceremony ended with a round of applause, photo sessions, and prayers for continued peace and prosperity in the nation.
