Nightlife king laments missing Davido’s star-studded Miami wedding, begs U.S. Embassy for “access to the greatest country in the world."

By Ibrahim Kegbegbe

Popular Nigerian socialite and nightclub owner, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has publicly expressed deep frustration over his inability to secure a United States visa. This setback forced him to miss the lavish wedding of Afrobeats superstar Davido and his wife, Chioma, in Miami.

In an emotional message on his social media platforms, the self-styled “Owerri Rick Ross” admitted that the visa denial had “humbled” him despite his wealth and influence.

“I am not an Azaman. Please give me access to the greatest country in the world. USA visa has humbled me,” he wrote.

Chief Priest, a close friend and business associate of Davido, revealed he was heartbroken not to witness the union of the couple, whom he described as dear to him.

“I’m happy for my best friend, Davido, but I’m also sad I couldn’t make it to his wedding in Miami. Sometimes God has a way of making you realise you’re powerless no matter how rich or powerful you are,” he lamented.

The celebrity barman also addressed online trolls who mocked him for being absent at the high-profile event, saying the backlash had only strengthened his resolve to reapply for a visa.

“The bashing I’m getting and being called an ‘Azaman’ is the reason I’ll apply for a U.S. visa and get it again. I wish Davido and Chioma a great wedding today. U.S. Embassy, please give me access to the greatest country in the world. I’m heartbroken and in pain,” he appealed.

The Merit Newspaper reports that Cubana Chief Priest, who often uses the phrase “Money Nah Water” to highlight the ease with which he spends lavishly, noted that the situation served as a reminder that wealth does not always guarantee privilege on the international stage.

While the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria has yet to respond publicly to his plea, the episode has stirred conversations online about visa policies and the sometimes unpredictable hurdles faced by Nigerian celebrities. Social media reactions have ranged from sympathy to mockery, with some urging him to take the setback in stride.

Davido’s wedding, held in Miami earlier this week, was attended by a select list of global entertainers, politicians, and business moguls. The event trended across multiple platforms, with videos and pictures flooding Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

For now, Cubana Chief Priest says he remains determined to attend future events in the U.S., vowing that his next visa application will be successful.

“No matter what, I’ll step into America again. It’s just a matter of time,” he said.
