Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, have arrived in Delta State ahead of a major rally scheduled for Monday, April 28, 2025.
The rally, which will take place in Asaba, the Delta State capital, is being organized to formally welcome Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and several other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have defected to the APC.
Upon their arrival, the APC delegation was received by Governor Oborevwori at the Delta State Government House, signaling a historic shift in the state’s political landscape.
Information got The Merit Newspaper that Vice President Kashim Shettima is also expected to attend the rally on Monday, further underscoring the significance the party places on the event.
Governor Oborevwori’s defection marks a major political development, as the entire PDP structure in Delta State is expected to align with the APC, strengthening the party’s influence in the South-South region.
