Pastor Clement John of Eternal Life Ministry Lagos has admonished Nigerian youths to reject hard drugs and abstain from ungodly activities such as cultism and kidnapping, emphasizing the spiritual and societal consequences of such acts.

Speaking during a sermon on Sunday, the cleric stressed that the use of hard drugs leads to moral decay and destruction, quoting Proverbs 20:1, which states, “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” He urged the youth to seek wisdom and self-discipline instead of indulging in destructive habits.

Addressing the issue of cultism and kidnapping, he cited Proverbs 1:10-11: “My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, ‘Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause,’” warning against joining bad company and engaging in violent activities.

Pastor John further encouraged the youth to embrace godly virtues, pursue education, and contribute positively to society, highlighting that “righteousness exalts a nation” (Proverbs 14:34). He reiterated by calling on parents, religious leaders, and the government to work together to provide mentorship and opportunities for the younger generation.

This call for moral uprightness comes amidst growing concerns about the rise in drug abuse and criminal activities among youths in the country.
