The ongoing FIFA Worldq Cup continued to deliver excitement on Monday, June 22, as four matches produced 13 goals and provided football fans across the globe with a blend of dominance, resilience and late drama.

Former champions France and Argentina underlined their title credentials with commanding victories, while Norway survived a spirited fightback from Senegal in one of the most entertaining encounters of the day. Algeria also boosted their hopes of progressing to the knockout stage with a hard-fought win over Jordan.

In Group J, Argentina maintained their impressive form with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Austria. The South Americans controlled possession and dictated the tempo for long periods, demonstrating the quality and discipline that have made them one of the tournament favourites. The victory strengthened Argentina’s position in the group and moved them closer to securing a place in the next round.

Another European heavyweight, France, also made a strong statement in Group I with a convincing 3-0 triumph over Iraq. Les Bleus displayed their attacking prowess and defensive solidity to secure maximum points, leaving Iraq with a mountain to climb in their quest for qualification.

The most thrilling contest of the day came in Group I, where Norway held off a determined Senegalese side to record a dramatic 3-2 victory. In a pulsating encounter filled with attacking football, the Norwegians capitalised on their chances and showed composure under pressure as Senegal fought valiantly to salvage a point. The result leaves the group delicately poised heading into the final round of matches.

Meanwhile, Algeria claimed a valuable 2-1 victory over Jordan in Group J. The North Africans demonstrated character and efficiency to secure three crucial points, keeping their hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive. Jordan, despite showing determination, could not find a way back after Algeria’s decisive strike.
