Tiri Alamu Agbolagade Leather, popularly known as “Tiri Leather,” is carving a niche for himself as a prominent Fuji artiste in Nigeria, particularly in the Southwest. With his unique style and energetic performances, the Oyo State-based musician has become the most followed Fuji artiste in the region, earning himself a slew of nicknames from fans.

Among his admirers, he is fondly called “Mr. Take Over in Oyo State,” a testament to his growing influence in the state’s music scene. Others refer to him as “Mr. Oluyole,” in homage to Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, while some describe him as “Ogo Agbaye Titun” (The New Glory of the World).

One fan, Kazeem Oladimeji, described Tiri Leather as a refreshing force in Fuji music. “He is not just a Fuji artiste; he is a movement. His lyrics resonate with both young and old, and his stage presence is second to none,” Oladimeji said.

The rising star’s popularity skyrocketed after a well-publicized fallout between two Fuji icons, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, popularly known as “Oganla Fuji,” and Alhaji Taye Adebisi, known as “Taye Currency.” Following the split, Oganla Fuji adopted Tiri Leather as his protégé, endearing him further to fans of the genre.

Oganla Fuji, who is widely regarded as “Ijoba Fuji” (The Government of Fuji), has referred to Tiri Leather as “The Senate President of Oganla Fuji,” solidifying the younger artiste’s position within the Fuji music hierarchy. Speaking on this recognition, a devoted Fuji fan, Mrs. Adebisi Olufunke, said, “Tiri Leather deserves all the accolades. Being mentored by Oganla Fuji is a seal of approval, and he is proving to be a worthy successor.”

Industry watchers have noted that Tiri Leather’s appeal lies in his ability to blend traditional Fuji rhythms with modern influences, attracting a diverse fanbase across Nigeria and beyond. His growing dominance in the Southwest has sparked debates among Fuji enthusiasts, with many predicting he could soon rival some of the biggest names in the genre.

Despite his rising fame, Tiri Leather remains humble, often crediting his success to his fans and his mentor. In a recent performance in Ibadan, he told the audience, “I am where I am today because of your support and encouragement. I promise to keep making good music that brings joy to your hearts.”

As the Fuji music scene continues to evolve, all eyes are on Tiri Leather as he embarks on what many believe will be a remarkable journey to the top. With his talent, mentorship under Oganla Fuji, and a devoted fanbase, he is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the Nigerian music industry.
