The ongoing feud between Afrobeat sensation Burna Boy and socialite Cubana Chiefpriest has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many Nigerians rallying in defense of the Grammy-winning artist.

Fans and lovers of Afrobeat have taken to various platforms to criticize Cubana Chiefpriest, accusing him of attacking Burna Boy without merit. Supporters have pointed out Burna Boy’s consistent humanitarian efforts, both online and offline, as evidence of his impactful contributions to society.

Highlighting the music video for Burna Boy’s hit single Higher, fans urged Chiefpriest to take a closer look at the video, which showcases Burna Boy providing palliatives and empowering individuals. The video, praised for its themes of personal growth, resilience, and spirituality, serves as a testament to Burna Boy’s commitment to uplifting others.

One fan stated, “Who has Cubana Chiefpriest helped? Burna Boy has been helping people for years, both online and in real life. He should go and watch Higher to understand what true empowerment looks like.”

Another social media user criticized Chiefpriest, alleging that his recent acts of generosity only began after his fallout with Burna Boy. “He has never been known for helping people until now. It’s only because he has issues with Burna Boy that he’s trying to show love online,” the user claimed.

As the feud continues to trend, Burna Boy’s supporters remain unwavering in their admiration for the artist, citing his consistent efforts to give back to the community as a shining example of his character. The controversy, however, has also reignited discussions about the responsibilities of public figures in supporting their communities authentically.

For now, Burna Boy’s message in Higher seems to resonate louder than the feud: “Don’t look up to me, look up to God. Believe deeply in what you want to present to the world.”
