About 30 members of the Lagos state house of Assembly stormed the Department of state security office at Magodo area in Lagos Thursday following the invitation of two members, Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu and Hon. Lanre Afinni for questioning.
The invitation to the members may not be unconnected with the recent removal from office of the former speaker,Mudasiru Obasa on 13th January while he was away on vacation abroad.
The Embattled former speaker had written a petition to the DSS concerning the process of his removal.
A statement released by members of the state house of Assembly signed by Jon.Ogundipe Olukayode on behalf of the house, explained that their visit to the Lagos command of Department of state security services was to provide insights into the situation on the removal of the ex speaker,Mudasiru Obasa.
The members stated that their action is constitutional and in the interest of the people of Lagos state which was carried out through a democratic process citing sections 92 and 96 of the 1999 constitution as amended which outline the process of election and removal of the speaker.
All the members earlier detained by the DSS have regained their freedom.
