Portable in Crowd with Royalties from Sony

In a viral video that surfaced online, Portable, who now calls himself “Olowo Sony” (Sony’s wealthy man), was seen flaunting his First Bank statement of account to a massive crowd along the Oshodi-Sango expressway. The singer, known for his flamboyant lifestyle, revealed that Skepta instructed Sony Music to allocate all proceeds from the single to him, describing the gesture as one of a kind.

“Big thanks to Skepta for telling Sony to give me my royalties. I’m not a Yahoo boy; I’m a musician making legit money,” Portable said while addressing the crowd. He further disclosed that he has acquired significant shares in First Bank and is now using part of his earnings to uplift his fans and support the needy.

Portable, who often refers to himself as the “voice of the street,” led a convoy of fans and friends back to his neighborhood, where he displayed his printed account statement as proof of his philanthropy. He emphasized that his earnings have enabled him to provide for those in need, demonstrating his commitment to the people who have supported his music career.

The spontaneous procession caused traffic along the expressway, drawing attention from passersby and sparking discussions on social media about Portable’s unique approach to giving back to his community.

Skepta’s generosity in ensuring Portable received the full royalties for Tony Montana has also been widely praised, with many fans commending the British-Nigerian artist for supporting talents from the Nigerian music scene.

Portable’s rise from a struggling artist to a prominent name in the Nigerian music industry has been remarkable. His story resonates with many, particularly the youth, who see him as a symbol of resilience and determination. His latest act of generosity has only solidified his reputation as a street icon who stays true to his roots.

As Portable continues to enjoy the success of Tony Montana, the singer appears determined to use his platform and wealth to make a positive impact on his community, proving that his music is not just about entertainment but also empowerment.
