There was an emotional family moment at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday night as English football star Bukayo Saka reunited with his grandmother, who reportedly travelled from Oro in Kwara State, Nigeria, to witness Arsenal’s victory over Burnley.

The elderly woman was seen on the pitch shortly after the final whistle, beaming with joy as she posed for photographs with her grandson while the Arsenal winger signed an autograph for a fan who had approached him with a sheet on the field.

The Merit Newspaper reports that the touching scene drew admiration from supporters and observers, as Saka took time after the match to share the special moment with his grandmother, whose visit highlighted the deep family ties the player maintains despite his rise to global fame.

Saka, who was born in England to Nigerian parents, has often spoken proudly about his Nigerian heritage and the role his family has played in shaping his football journey. His roots in Nigeria, particularly through his family connections to Kwara State, continue to resonate strongly among many fans back home.

The Arsenal forward has become one of the club’s most influential players in recent seasons, earning praise for his performances in the English Premier League and for his humility off the pitch. His success has made him a source of pride for many Nigerians, especially young football enthusiasts who see him as an inspiration.
