Lagos, Nigeria – September 6, 2025

Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Ibrahim Chatta, has announced the death of his son.

The actor broke the news on Saturday in a post on his official X handle, @ibrahimchatta_lordthespis, where he wrote:

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on dear son. Champ.”

Chatta did not disclose the cause of his son’s death or provide further details about the circumstances.

The announcement has attracted widespread condolences from colleagues in the entertainment industry and fans across social media platforms, many of whom prayed for strength for the bereaved family.

This is the second time the actor is experiencing the loss of a child. In June 2025, Chatta revealed in an interview that his first child, a baby girl, died after he was unable to pay hospital bills. He recounted that he buried her in a wooden Coca-Cola crate due to financial constraints at the time.
