The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, has assured that several major projects embarked upon by the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be completed before the end of this year and in 2026.

Omotoso made this known during an interactive session with journalists in Lagos, emphasizing that Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, are committed to ensuring that no project is abandoned.

He said, “All of the beautiful projects that you see that we have started, we are going to complete them. The new Massey Hospital is almost completed, while the Opebi–Mende Link Bridge will be commissioned before the end of the year.”

Speaking further, Omotoso explained that the government is currently focusing on the final stages of the hospital project. “What is left are the finishing touches. You know it’s not just the building that makes a hospital; it must also be well-equipped. That is where we still have a lot of work to do. But by next year, the hospital will be commissioned,” he said.

He also disclosed that the new General Hospital in Ojo and several food hub projects across the state are nearing completion. According to him, one of the food hubs—described as the biggest in sub-Saharan Africa—will help stabilize food supply and prices during emergencies or inflationary periods.

“It is the kind of hub that can feed at least five million people for three months if there is famine,” Omotoso stated. “And if food prices rise, releasing items from the hub will help reduce costs. It’s a facility that should excite all of us.”

The commissioner added that major transportation projects, including the second phases of the Blue and Red Rail Lines, are progressing steadily and will be completed before the end of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s tenure. He also revealed that work on the Green Rail Line would commence soon, with significant progress expected before the administration’s exit.

Omotoso further highlighted the completion of several housing schemes across the state, such as the Ajara Housing Project in Badagry and the nearly completed Odo-Onosa and Sangotedo housing estates.

“It is not in the DNA of the APC administration to abandon projects,” he said. “Either in housing, health, or infrastructure, all ongoing projects will be completed. Very soon, we will commission what I can call the biggest school anywhere in West Africa — located in Ajegunle. It’s a massive, wonderful facility that will amaze everyone.”
