President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, on his re-election victory, describing the development as an affirmation of his visionary and people-oriented leadership in the state.

In a statement released from the Presidential Villa on Sunday, President Tinubu commended the governor for what he called “a remarkable demonstration of intellectual leadership anchored on accountability, transparency, and innovation.”

Soludo, who contested under the platform of the All Grand Progressives Alliance (AGPA), was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after securing a landslide victory in the Saturday poll. With this, he becomes the third governor in the political history of Anambra State to win a second term in office.

President Tinubu also extended his commendations to the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the electoral body for ensuring a peaceful, credible, and transparent exercise.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” President Tinubu stated. “He has demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be effectively applied in governance to achieve prudence, transparency, and people-centered development.”

Tinubu recalled his official visit to Anambra in May 2025, during which he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, including urban renewal schemes, road networks, and digital innovation initiatives.

“The experience was remarkable and remains indelible in my mind. Governor Soludo has brought discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance, and under him, Anambra is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” Tinubu added.

The President urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to seek the cooperation of his political opponents in consolidating on the gains of democracy in the state.

“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support and look forward to continued collaboration between Anambra and the Federal Government,” he said.

Tinubu also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its new Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for conducting what observers have described as one of the most credible elections in recent years.

“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance again demonstrates the vitality of our political system and the fact that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be denied,” the President remarked.

He encouraged INEC to maintain its current standards and continue to improve on its processes to deepen public confidence in Nigeria’s electoral system.

Political observers have hailed Soludo’s re-election as a reflection of the electorate’s confidence in his developmental agenda, which includes industrial reforms, infrastructural renewal, and investments in education and technology. Since assuming office in 2022, Soludo has championed policies aimed at transforming Anambra into an economically self-reliant and technologically advanced state.

With his re-election, analysts say the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor is poised to consolidate on his administration’s “Solution Agenda” — a blueprint that has become synonymous with Anambra’s developmental stride.
