The Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, Barrister Femi Aina, has described the resignation of Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo from the party as “a big vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” though he expressed confidence that the NNPP would continue to grow stronger with divine support and collective resilience.

Speaking to journalists in Abeokuta on Monday, Barrister Aina said Ambassador Ajadi’s exit from the party marked the departure of a committed leader and financier whose contributions to the NNPP’s development in Ogun State were immense and invaluable.

“Ambassador Ajadi’s resignation has created a big vacuum in our party. It is a loss we feel deeply, but with God on our side, the NNPP in Ogun State will continue to wax stronger,” Aina stated.

He described Ajadi as “a man with a golden heart and no bad bone in his body,” noting that most of the progress achieved in the NNPP’s membership drive and grassroots mobilization was largely due to Ajadi’s financial commitment and moral encouragement.

“The little we achieved in expanding our structure and reaching out to the people of Ogun State came through his consistent support. We at NNPP owe him deep gratitude and wish him all the best in his new political journey,” he said.

Aina also hailed Ajadi’s political passion and patriotism, describing him as “a political ambassador determined to change Nigeria for good.”

“He has all it takes to be a governor, if not a president,” Aina added. “We at NNPP love him dearly and promise to continue where he stopped. He has assisted us tremendously, and we will not let him down.”

While expressing optimism about the party’s future, Aina urged members not to be discouraged by Ajadi’s departure but to remain steadfast and united in building the NNPP as a credible alternative in Ogun politics.

“The door remains open for Ambassador Ajadi anytime he wishes to return. We believe that even outside NNPP, he will continue to assist and advise us when called upon,” Aina affirmed.

He further encouraged party members across the 20 local government areas of the state to stay committed to sustaining the structures already established through Ajadi’s leadership and vision.

“We must continue to work together to keep our structures intact. The movement must not stop; we must continue to push for the ideals that Ambassador Ajadi stood for — unity, justice, and people-oriented governance,” Aina said.

Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a businessman, philanthropist, and social reform advocate, announced his resignation from the NNPP on Monday, November 10, 2025. He has since joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing his defection as “a strategic and patriotic step toward rebuilding Nigeria’s unity and hope.”

Ajadi, who contested the Ogun State governorship election under the NNPP in 2023, was widely recognized for his grassroots mobilization and youth empowerment initiatives. His move to the PDP has stirred political discussions in Ogun State, with analysts describing it as a major development that could reshape the dynamics of the 2027 elections.
