Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday evening presided over the National Caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja. The meeting, which commenced at 7:20 PM, is the first such gathering under Tinubu’s administration since assuming office on May 29, 2023.
The high-profile meeting brought together key figures of the ruling party, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Sources close to the party disclosed to The Merit Newspaper that the agenda includes discussions on a proposed non-elective national convention, the establishment of standing committees within the party, and the implementation of a membership e-registration exercise. The National Caucus meeting is a precursor to the APC’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the party’s national secretariat in Wuse 2, Abuja.
