Tiri Alamu Leather

By Ibrahim Kegbegbe

A fresh street slang from Ibadan-based Fuji artist Tiri Alamu Leather has taken Yoruba-speaking communities by storm, dominating conversations and social gatherings. The phrase, which has become a viral sensation among Fuji lovers and street music enthusiasts, is:

“Jeun, sun, k’o logun. Ṣe o ko ri pe o n ti ru ni?”

(Eat, sleep, and take medication. Don’t you see you are losing weight?)

The slang, delivered in a playful yet sarcastic tone, has sparked widespread amusement among fans. Many believe that Tiri Alamu Leather is using it as a subtle dig at his Fuji contemporaries in Ibadan, Oyo State, particularly those competing with him in the industry.

As the phrase continues to trend, its meaning has been interpreted in various ways. While some see it as a lighthearted joke, others argue that it carries a deeper message aimed at rivals who may be struggling to keep up with the fast-paced Fuji music scene.

Tiri Alamu Leather, a rising star in the Fuji music industry, is gaining recognition not just for his music but also for his ability to create street vibes that resonate with the people. He is known to be a protégé of Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, widely regarded as Oganla Fuji or Ijoba Fuji, one of Nigeria’s Fuji legends.

With his growing popularity and sharp lyrical style, many believe Tiri Alamu Leather is positioning himself as a force to reckon with in the Yoruba music space. As his slang continues to spread, Fuji lovers eagerly watch to see how his rivals will respond—whether with music, wit, or another street slang of their own.
