The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has announced the commencement of screening for aspirants seeking the party’s ticket for the 2027 House of Assembly election.
In a notice issued on Friday, the party directed all aspirants who purchased expression of interest and nomination forms to appear for the exercise at the APC State Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, by 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The party instructed the aspirants to come with evidence of payment for their nomination forms alongside all relevant documents required for the screening process.

The notice, signed by Olawale Sadare on behalf of the state chapter of the party, also warned aspirants against attending the exercise with personal aides, drivers, family members, political supporters, praise singers, or security details.
According to the party, only accredited aspirants will be allowed into the venue, adding that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise.
The development is seen as part of early political preparations by the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections in Oyo State, where political parties have begun consultations and internal realignments.

The Merit Newspaper reports that the screening exercise is expected to determine the eligibility of aspirants seeking to fly the party’s flag in the race for seats in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
