As the world marks Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21, 2026, the APM Senatorial candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has joined millions across Nigeria and the global community in celebrating fathers, describing them as “the backbone of family stability and nation-building.”
In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, Ajadi extended warm greetings to fathers across Oyo State, Nigeria, and the world, urging them to continue to uphold values of responsibility, sacrifice, discipline, and moral guidance in raising their children.
According to him, the role of fathers remains central to the development of a stable society, stressing that strong families are the foundation of a strong nation.
“On this special occasion of Father’s Day, I celebrate all fathers, father-figures, and guardians who continue to make sacrifices daily to ensure the wellbeing of their families. Your role in shaping responsible children and building a disciplined society cannot be overemphasized,” Ajadi said.

He noted that modern challenges, including economic hardship and social pressures, have made fatherhood more demanding, but urged men not to relent in their responsibilities as leaders of their homes.
“Despite the challenges facing our society today, fathers must remain steadfast. The family is the first school of life, and fathers must continue to provide leadership, love, and direction that will produce responsible citizens for our nation,” he added.
Ajadi also used the occasion to advocate for stronger family values, calling on government and community leaders to support initiatives that strengthen parenting, youth mentorship, and moral education.
He emphasized that political leadership must go hand in hand with social responsibility, noting that nation-building begins at the family level.
“As we aspire to build a better Oyo State and Nigeria at large, we must not forget that governance starts from the home. A society that neglects its families risks weakening its future,” he stated.
The APM senatorial candidate further encouraged young people to appreciate and honour their fathers, describing Father’s Day as an opportunity to reflect on parental sacrifices often taken for granted.

He reiterated his message with prayers for fathers across all walks of life, wishing them strength, good health, and divine guidance.
“I pray for strength, wisdom, and good health for all fathers. May God continue to bless and reward your efforts as you nurture the next generation. Happy Father’s Day to all fathers across Oyo Central, Nigeria, and the world,” he said.
Father’s Day, celebrated globally on the third Sunday of June, is dedicated to honoring fathers and father figures for their sacrifices, guidance, and contributions to family and society.
In Nigeria, the occasion continues to attract messages from political, religious, and community leaders, all highlighting the importance of responsible fatherhood in addressing social challenges and strengthening national unity.
