Hon. Atele Jeremiah Nunayon

Ijofin, Ogun State – June 13, 2025
As Hon. Atele Jeremiah Nunayon, a vibrant and rising figure in Ogun State politics, marks his birthday today, the occasion has become more than a personal celebration—it has turned into a platform for advocacy, political reflection, and a renewed call for development in neglected communities within the state.

The grassroots politician, who currently serves as the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Ogun West Senatorial District Chairman, was joined by family, friends, political associates, and supporters from across Ogun State in commemorating the day.

Speaking to journalists during the celebration, Hon. Nunayon used the moment to spotlight key issues facing his constituency, particularly the poor condition of roads in Ijofin ward and surrounding areas.

“All the inner roads in Ijofin ward are in terrible condition. The road leading to the palace of our king is nearly impassable,” he said. “The Itamosa Zungbogo Community road that connects to Dosemo Community is another example. Governor Dapo Abiodun, we urge you to address these roads before the end of your second term. Our communities are part of Ogun State and deserve attention.”

Hon. Nunayon, a former state deputy organising secretary of the NNPP and the party’s 2021 councillorship candidate from Ijofin Ward in Ipokia Local Government, has long been a vocal advocate for development at the grassroots level. He hails from Itamosa Zungbogo Community in Ijofin and is the son of the respected Chief Atele Ganhumede.

In his address, Nunayon emphasized the need for robust democratic engagement in the country, warning against the rise of a one-party dominant system.

“Democracy thrives on checks and balances. A one-party system is dangerous and unacceptable. We must preserve political plurality to keep the ruling party accountable and ensure the voices of the people are heard,” he asserted.

He also took time to commend the unrelenting efforts of Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, the Southwest Chieftain of the NNPP and CEO of Bullion Records, for his continuous support to the people of Ogun State and beyond.

“Ambassador Ajadi is a beacon of leadership in the Southwest. His contributions to youth empowerment, civic education, and grassroots mobilisation are helping to shape a more inclusive political landscape. He is not just a politician; he is a people builder,” Nunayon stated.

Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, who emerged as the NNPP gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections in Ogun State, has been known for his philanthropic work, especially in rural communities. Through his foundation and media platforms, he has consistently called for reforms, youth participation in politics, and infrastructural development.

Nunayon emphasized by calling on citizens to remain politically engaged, stressing that meaningful change requires active participation.

“Let us not sleep on our civic duties. Join a political party, ask questions, vote wisely, and speak up. Ogun State has great potential, but it takes collective responsibility to realize it,” he said.
