In a year that will be remembered for its remarkable weddings, two Nigerian celebrities—global music icon Davido and skit-making sensation Kamorudeen Ajibola, popularly known as Kamo State—captured the nation’s attention with their lavish weekday ceremonies, defying the odds of busy work schedules and traffic-filled Lagos.

Davido and his long-time partner, Chef Chioma Rowland, sealed their love in a grand ceremony on June 25, 2024, at the luxurious Harbour Point on Victoria Island, Lagos. Despite being a Tuesday—a day many dedicate to boardrooms and deadlines—the venue was a hub of excitement as a crowd of fans, friends, and family gathered to celebrate the union of one of Nigeria’s most beloved power couples. The wedding was a culmination of a romance that had captured headlines and hearts, proving once again that love knows no bounds, not even weekday routines.

Months later, another weekday wedding made waves. Popular skit maker Kamo State tied the knot with his fiancée, Esther Olamide, in December 2024. The couple’s nuptials followed a series of pre-wedding festivities that began as early as November, building anticipation among fans and friends alike. Kamo State took to Instagram to share heartwarming moments from the ceremony, captioning a post with heartfelt words: “You came into my life and everything becomes brand new. Forever with you, Arike @esther-mide.”

The events showcased a blend of glitz, glamour, and deep emotional connections. Both weddings attracted massive crowds, drawing attention to the star power of their hosts. Despite the unconventional timing, the celebrations proved irresistible, with attendees and fans flooding social media with congratulatory messages and snapshots from the big days.

In a society where weekend weddings dominate, these weekday unions stood out not just for their grandeur but for the resilience of love in navigating tight schedules, fame, and public scrutiny.
