As the 2025 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations approach, Nigerian Muslim students aspiring to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Arabic and Islamic Studies are being encouraged to consider Markaz University College, Agege, as their first or second choice for university admissions.

While Arabic and Islamic studies have been offered in several universities across Nigeria, seeking knowledge at Markaz Agege presents a unique and compelling opportunity. The institution, now accredited by the Federal Government through its affiliation with the University of Ilorin, stands out due to its long-established reputation as a leading center for Islamic scholarship.

Markaz has long been recognized by Arab countries and universities as the premier institution for Arabic and Islamic studies in Nigeria. The recent accreditation further solidifies its status as a globally recognized center of excellence in Islamic education.

In an interview with Sheikh Imam RAJI Adams Adebayo, an alumnus who graduated in 2000, he shared insights into the founding vision of Markaz. “Markaz was established by Sheikh Adam Al-Ilory to make Arabic and Islamic studies accessible to Muslims across Africa, particularly in Nigeria, while also fostering genuine piety to Allah,” Imam RAJI said.

He underscored the significance of the institution’s recent accreditation. “This accreditation is a significant step forward in enhancing the credibility and recognition of the Arabic and Islamic studies program at Markaz. We have always been dedicated to providing quality education, and now our students will graduate with degrees that are officially recognized both locally and globally.”

Imam RAJI also highlighted the advantages for students choosing Markaz University College, especially in Arabic and Islamic studies. “Markaz University College is a monotechnic institution focused solely on these courses, which ensures that students receive specialized and in-depth education. Unlike universities with diverse courses, which might not offer the same level of focus, Markaz provides an environment where students can excel in their chosen field,” he explained.

“The pioneering students of this great opportunity will be well-versed and recognized internationally because many of our lecturers are renowned alumni who are internationally known. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to help students thrive and graduate with distinction,” he added.

Imam RAJI Adams also mentioned that the governing council of the institution consists of highly revered and renowned scholars whose aim is to ensure the success of the students. “The council’s commitment to excellence in education ensures that every student is provided with the tools, resources, and guidance needed to succeed,” he said.

The institution’s unique curriculum blends traditional Islamic scholarship with modern academic rigor, which has been central to its success in producing world-renowned Islamic scholars. “Markaz has been a source of inspiration for countless scholars who have contributed significantly to the global Islamic community. By choosing Markaz Agege, students are not just enrolling in a university; they are becoming part of a legacy of excellence that spans generations,” Imam RAJI added.

For prospective students like Aminat Abdullahi, Markaz University College Agege is the institution of choice due to its rich history and global recognition. “Markaz offers an educational experience that you can’t find anywhere else. It has been a beacon for Islamic studies, and I believe enrolling here will open doors to countless opportunities, both in Nigeria and internationally,” she said.

Markaz Agege’s global reputation and newly accredited status make it an excellent choice for any student hoping to excel in Arabic and Islamic studies. As one of Nigeria’s leading institutions, it offers students an education that is recognized worldwide, along with a pathway to becoming influential figures in the global Islamic community.

The institution’s leaders are confident that prospective 2025 JAMB candidates will recognize the value of choosing Markaz Agege and will take full advantage of the opportunities it offers in Arabic and Islamic studies, reinforcing Markaz as a premier destination for academic excellence.

Markaz Agege’s recent accreditation marks more than just a ceremonial achievement—it signifies a new era of growth and recognition for the institution and its students. For Muslim students interested in Arabic and Islamic studies, Markaz Agege is undoubtedly the top choice for pursuing a BSc that carries weight both within Nigeria and across the world.
