The NNPC Gas Marketing Ltd, a subsidiary of NNPC Ltd, and its Unincorporated Joint Venture (UJV) partner, NIPCO Gas Ltd, have executed a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with Ssonic Petroleum Ltd to supply natural gas to the company’s proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos State.
In a statement issued in Abuja, NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi O. Soneye, said that under the terms of the agreement—executed on Thursday, March 6, 2025—the NGML-NIPCO UJV will supply 80 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) of natural gas per day to the Ssonic Petroleum LNG plant for a period of 20 years.
The statement added that the gas supply agreement is part of NNPC Ltd’s efforts to boost domestic gas utilization for industrial and economic growth while promoting gas as a cleaner, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly fuel, in line with the global goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
