Ibadan, Nigeria — Friday, September 26, 2025

Supporters of the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, thronged the Ibadan Airport on Friday morning to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is attending the coronation of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The Merit Newspaper reports that the atmosphere at the airport was charged with political undertones as several vehicles bearing the images of both Tinubu and Adelabu were spotted, emblazoned with the inscription: “Tinubu and Adelabu 2027.”

The show of solidarity comes amid speculations about Adelabu’s future political ambitions and his closeness to the presidency. Observers say the display may signal early positioning ahead of the 2027 elections, even as the minister continues to play a key role in Tinubu’s cabinet.
