Hon. Semiu Akingbala and Oba Akamo

By Ibrahim Kegbegbe

Itori, Ogun State — September 30, 2025

The Otun Baale of Olowofela, Hon. Akingbala Semiu, has joined the people of Ogun State and beyond in celebrating the birthday anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Fatai Akorede Akamo, the Olu of Itori, describing the monarch as a symbol of unity, development, and cultural pride.

In his congratulatory message, Hon. Akingbala Semiu extolled the virtues of Oba Akamo, noting that the revered traditional ruler has continued to use his influence and wisdom to foster peace, stability, and progress in Itori and the Ewekoro Local Government area at large.

Although Oba Akamo’s birthday falls on Wednesday, October 1st, Hon. Akingbala Semiu, in a show of deep respect and admiration for the monarch, chose to extend his heartfelt wishes ahead of the day, describing it as a privilege to celebrate a king whose reign has remained a blessing to his people.

“On behalf of the people of Olowofela and my humble self, I heartily congratulate His Royal Majesty, Kabiyesi Oba Abdul Fatai Akorede Akamo, the Olu of Itori, on the occasion of his birthday,” Hon. Akingbala said. “Kabiyesi has remained a father to all, a rallying point for our people, and a custodian of the cherished traditions of our land. His leadership continues to inspire confidence, unity, and socio-economic growth.”

He further described Oba Akamo as a bridge-builder who has maintained cordial relationships with government authorities, community leaders, and the youth, ensuring that Itori remains a beacon of peace and harmony in Ogun State.

“Your reign, Kabiyesi, has brought about visible development to Itori and its environs,” he added. “We pray that the Almighty grants you many more fruitful years in good health, wisdom, and strength to continue your noble service to humanity and our dear state.”

The celebration of the Olu of Itori’s birthday, which coincides with Nigeria’s Independence Day on October 1st, has been described by many residents as symbolic, reflecting the monarch’s own vision of unity and freedom for his people.
