Oyo, Nigeria – Friday, September 19, 2025

Ogbomoso, Oyo State — The political atmosphere in Ogbomoso was electrified on Thursday, September 18, 2025, as Hon. Gbemileke Alagbe, popularly known as Eleniyan, officially opened his campaign office before a mammoth crowd of over 5,000 supporters.

The event, which attracted youths, women, and men from across Oyo State, marked a significant step in Eleniyan’s political journey as he unveiled his campaign structure, Eleniyan Vanguard, and adopted the slogan “Ogbomoso Lokan, Gbemile Ni Joor” — a rallying cry that resonated with his supporters.

On the occasion, Eleniyan expressed gratitude to the people for their unwavering support.

“Today is not just about me; it is about the people of Oyo State who desire progress, inclusion, and fairness,” he said. “The massive turnout here in Ogbomoso shows that our people are ready for change that puts humanity first.”

The campaign office prominently displayed Eleniyan’s image alongside the logo of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), fueling widespread belief among residents that he has formally joined the party. While addressing this, he said:

“The ADC represents the values of accountability, inclusiveness, and service to the people. I have lived by these values as a businessman, philanthropist, and advocate for education. I am proud to align with a platform that gives voice to the ordinary man and woman.”

In part of his remarks, Eleniyan called on the people of Oyo State to embrace unity and peace as the election season gathers momentum.

“Politics should not divide us; it should unite us towards building the Oyo State of our dreams. Together, with sincerity and hard work, we will make this vision a reality.”

Hon. Alagbe, a Chartered Investment Banker and successful entrepreneur, is also renowned for his philanthropic initiatives, particularly in advancing girl-child education across Nigeria. His humanitarian efforts, coupled with his business acumen, have earned him respect across political divides.

Political analysts at the event observed that with the overwhelming support he enjoyed at the rally, Eleniyan is emerging as a strong contender for the governorship ticket of the ADC in Oyo State. Residents of Ogbomoso expressed optimism about his candidacy.

Mrs. Taye Afolabi, a trader who attended the event, remarked:

“Eleniyan has always stood by the people. If he can do this much without being in government, we believe he will do even more if elected.”

Alhaji Kareem Olatunji, a community leader in Ogbomoso, also spoke on the significance of the event.

“Eleniyan has shown us that politics can be about service and not self-interest. His message of unity and inclusiveness gives us hope for a better Oyo State.”

Similarly, Miss Tosin Oladipo, a student from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), highlighted the inspiration Eleniyan’s candidacy brings to the youth.

“For young people, Eleniyan represents possibility. He believes in education, in giving opportunities to the youth, and that is why we are standing with him.”

With the unveiling of Eleniyan’s campaign structure and the visible support from thousands of residents, his entry into the Oyo State governorship race under the ADC is set to reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
