Lagos, Nigeria – Thursday, September 18, 2025

Fuji music legend, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, popularly known as Oganla Fuji, has described acquiring multiple houses. At the same time, millions of Nigerians struggle for food, shelter, and clothing as “ungodly and inhumane.”

In his remarks, Pasuma stressed that entertainers and political leaders must embrace philanthropy, reminding them that death is inevitable and only the Oganla Fuji legacy they leave behind through good deeds will matter.

“No matter how much you acquire, death will come one day. What people will remember are your good deeds and how you helped humanity,” Pasuma said.

Fuji Music and Pasuma’s Enduring Influence

Wasiu Alabi Pasuma has been one of the most dominant figures in Fuji music for over three decades. Rising to fame in the 1990s, Pasuma modernised the genre by blending traditional Fuji rhythms with contemporary sounds, making it appealing to both older fans and younger audiences.

His collaborations with Afrobeats and hip-hop stars have expanded Fuji music’s reach beyond Nigeria, cementing his reputation as a versatile and innovative musician. Known as Oganla—meaning “the boss”—Pasuma’s artistry and lyrics often reflect real-life struggles, social issues, and inspirational messages.

Wasiu Alabi Pasuma’s Philanthropy

Beyond entertainment, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma’s philanthropy has impacted countless lives. He is renowned for empowering youths through scholarships and vocational training, supporting widows, and helping struggling entertainers find their footing.

During festive seasons such as Ramadan and Christmas, the Fuji star frequently distributes food items, clothing, and financial aid to less privileged families in Lagos and across Nigeria. He has also supported local healthcare initiatives, demonstrating his commitment to community development.

His philanthropy reinforces his belief that wealth and fame must serve humanity, not just personal comfort.

Oganla Fuji Legacy: Music and Humanity

For Pasuma, true success lies not in material wealth but in the lives one uplifts. His recent comments are a reminder that political leaders and entertainment figures alike must measure their achievements by the positive impact they leave on society.

The Oganla Fuji legacy continues to stand as an example of how Fuji music can inspire social change while philanthropy cements a lasting impact. Pasuma’s voice, both in music and in advocacy, underscores the fact that legacy is built on giving back.
