Fresh political intrigue has emerged in Ogun State following a late-night meeting between Gbenga Daniel and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, hours after the senator announced his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary race.
A photograph that surfaced online on Sunday night showed Daniel exchanging a handshake with President Tinubu during what was described as a strategic visit to the Presidential Villa, sparking fresh speculation over the political implications of the meeting.

The visit came shortly after Daniel’s political group, BATOGD, directed its supporters to boycott Monday’s Ogun East senatorial primary, citing alleged intimidation and security concerns surrounding the exercise.
The Merit Newspaper reports that although details of the private discussion between the two political figures were not disclosed, observers say the timing of the meeting has intensified public interest, with many interpreting it as a sign that behind-the-scenes consultations may be ongoing over the tense APC contest in Ogun State.
