Destiny Boy

By The Merit Newspaper Correspondent

Lagos, Nigeria — Reports circulating on social media on Sunday afternoon have claimed that fast-rising Afrobeats singer Destiny Boy has allegedly passed away, sparking widespread shock and grief among fans and colleagues in the Nigerian music scene.

According to the unverified reports, the singer was said to have been taken to Abeokuta, Ogun State, for burial. As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued by his family, management, or relevant authorities to confirm the development.

The Merit Newspaper reports that the news has drawn heightened attention due to reports that Destiny Boy’s wife had recently given birth, making the alleged loss even more devastating for his immediate family and supporters.

Further details shared online indicate that the singer was born in 2004, placing his age at about 21 or 22 years, a fact that has deepened the sense of disbelief surrounding the reports.

Since the story broke, social media platforms have been flooded with messages of concern, prayers, and tributes, with many users calling for restraint and urging the public to await official confirmation before drawing conclusions.

Destiny Boy rose to prominence for his energetic street-inspired sound and had built a loyal following among young Afrobeats listeners. His music career, though still in its early stages, showed promise and growing influence within the industry.

Efforts to reach representatives close to the singer proved unsuccessful at press time. This publication will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as soon as verified information becomes available.

This is a developing story.
