FIFA has announced that the winners of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will receive championship rings for the first time in the tournament’s history, introducing a new reward alongside the iconic World Cup Trophy and gold medals.
The new initiative will debut after the 2026 World Cup final between Argentina and Spain on Sunday, making the victorious team the first-ever recipients of the specially designed rings.
According to FIFA, the championship rings are intended to commemorate the achievement of winning football’s biggest prize and provide players and officials with a lasting symbol of their success.

The rings will feature the FIFA World Cup Trophy and unique design elements representing the winning nation. Each member of the victorious squad and selected team officials will receive a personalised ring to mark their historic triumph.
The introduction of championship rings is one of the most notable innovations of the 2026 World Cup, which is already historic as the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams and to be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
While the World Cup Trophy remains the sport’s most prestigious prize, FIFA believes the additional recognition will further celebrate the achievement of becoming world champions.
