Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, have reportedly been included in the revised All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council list for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign, according to a report by Politics Digest published on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

The reported development has attracted attention because of the political backgrounds of the two public officials and the roles they are said to have been assigned in the campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to the report, Adeleke was named Osun State Campaign Coordinator, while Wike was listed as campaign coordinator for Tinubu in Rivers State and the FCT. However, the reported appointments do not establish that either politician has been named Director-General of the entire presidential campaign council.

Adeleke’s reported inclusion is particularly noteworthy because he contested the Osun governorship election under the platform of the Accord Party rather than the APC. His reported appearance on the campaign list, therefore, raises questions about the relationship between his political affiliation and his participation in Tinubu’s re-election campaign. However, inclusion on a campaign list should not, on its own, be interpreted as evidence that he has defected to the ruling party.

Wike, on the other hand, is a prominent figure in Nigeria’s political landscape and a former governor of Rivers State. His appointment as FCT minister under the Tinubu administration has placed him within the federal government, despite his longstanding association with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His reported campaign role would further highlight the political alliances and relationships shaping the preparations for the next presidential election.

The reported development comes as political parties and their leading figures continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general election. Campaign structures, political endorsements and alliances are expected to attract increasing public attention as preparations for the polls gather momentum.

Nevertheless, the precise scope of the reported appointments and the official status of the revised campaign council list require confirmation from the APC or the presidential campaign leadership. Until such confirmation is available, the reported roles should be treated as information attributed to Politics Digest rather than independently verified official appointments.

The Merit Newspaper will continue to monitor developments surrounding the reported campaign appointments and provide updates as further information becomes available.
