Political parties participating in the December 29, 2026 Local Government Councils Election in Oyo State have inspected and approved their respective logos on ballot paper specimens presented by the state electoral commission.
The verification exercise took place at the headquarters of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) in Ibadan, where representatives of the participating political parties examined the ballot paper samples to ensure that their party symbols were correctly displayed.
The exercise was coordinated by OYSIEC Commissioner, Chief Olukunmi Agboola, who represented the Commission’s Chairman, Dr Afees Adeniyi. It allowed party representatives to identify possible errors, request corrections and confirm the accuracy of their respective logos ahead of the forthcoming election.
At the conclusion of the exercise, the representatives expressed satisfaction with the displayed party symbols and gave their approval after the necessary checks had been conducted.
Speaking after confirming his party’s logo, the Oyo State Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) and National Rescue Movement (NRM), Mr Opeyemi Akinade, applauded OYSIEC for involving political parties in the electoral preparations and consistently keeping them informed about developments surrounding the election.
