Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has visited the Arabic and Islamic Training Centre, Markaz, Agege, where he interacted with members of the Muslim community and discussed issues concerning the future of Lagos State.
Hamzat, who disclosed the visit in a statement, said he spent time with the community and engaged in meaningful conversations about their shared hopes for Lagos, stressing the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among residents.
He said the strength of Lagos lies in the ability of its people to live together peacefully, regardless of their differences, while remaining committed to the progress and development of the state.

The Merit Newspaper reports that the visit also provided an opportunity for Hamzat to interact with the leadership and community associated with the renowned Islamic institution, which has a long history of promoting Arabic and Islamic education in Lagos and beyond.

Hamzat’s engagement with Islamic scholars and communities comes amid growing political activities ahead of the Lagos governorship election, with the APC candidate recently holding consultations with Muslim organisations and leaders across the state.

The deputy governor reaffirmed the importance of unity, peaceful coexistence and collective commitment to the development of Lagos, saying the state’s progress depends on its people working together for a better future.
