Sanwo-Olu Mourns Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's Mother's Death

LAGOS – Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed condolences to the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, following the death of his mother, Mrs. Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour.

In a condolence message, Governor Sanwo-Olu described the loss as painful and urged Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, his siblings and the entire Rhodes-Vivour family to take heart, noting that death, though difficult, is an inevitable part of life.

The governor prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul and asked God to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Mrs. Rhodes-Vivour’s death was announced by her son in a statement shared on Monday. He described his late mother as a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, expressing gratitude to God for what he called a life well spent.

“She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her,” the family said, adding that details of her funeral arrangements would be announced later.

Since the announcement of her passing, political leaders, associates, supporters and well-wishers from across the country have continued to send condolence messages to the family, describing Mrs. Rhodes-Vivour as a caring and devoted matriarch whose legacy will be remembered by those whose lives she touched.

The late Mrs. Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour is survived by her children, grandchildren and other family members.
