Abuja, July 14, 2026 – The leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by its National Chairman, Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately remove the names of Senator David Mark and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) under his leadership from the Commission’s official portal.

In a statement issued on Monday, Gombe maintained that the request was in line with a valid court judgment which, according to him, directed INEC to withdraw recognition from the David Mark-led NWC and declared all decisions, resolutions, and actions taken by the committee null and void.

The party urged INEC to recognize and upload only the authentic National Working Committee of the ADC in strict compliance with the court’s ruling.

The ADC leadership also warned former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to immediately stop presenting himself as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

According to the statement, Atiku is neither the presidential candidate nor has he ever been adopted by the party as its flag bearer for the forthcoming election.

The party further accused him of using the ADC’s name, logo, and emblem to spread what it described as false information and misinformation about the party.

The statement gave Atiku a seven-day ultimatum to publicly apologize to the members and stakeholders of the ADC for allegedly making unauthorized statements on behalf of the party.

It warned that failure to comply within the stipulated period would leave the party with no option but to pursue appropriate legal action.

The party also called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate the activities of Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

According to the statement, the ADC leadership urged the security agencies to arrest and prosecute Abdullahi over alleged dissemination of false information capable of misleading the public, inciting unrest, and threatening the prevailing peace in the country.
