LAGOS – Political leaders, party faithful and residents across Eti-Osa Constituency I have welcomed the emergence of Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the constituency ahead of the 2027 Lagos State House of Assembly election.
Bankole’s emergence followed the presentation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form to him by the APC, officially confirming him as the party’s standard-bearer for the 2027 general election.
He replaces the incumbent lawmaker and Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Noheem Adams, whose name did not appear on the party’s final list of candidates.
Reacting to the development, Modinat Ayelabeje, a party supporter from Ajah, congratulated Bankole on his emergence, describing it as a welcome development for the constituency. She expressed optimism that his candidacy would further strengthen the APC in Eti-Osa Constituency I and urged party members to remain united ahead of the election.
Similarly, Rasheedat Elegushi, a stakeholder from Ikate-Elegushi, congratulated the APC candidate and said his emergence had generated enthusiasm among many party members. She expressed confidence that Bankole would provide quality representation and sustain engagement with the people if elected.

From Osapa London, Niyi Eletu also congratulated Bankole, describing his emergence as encouraging for many residents and party supporters. He called on APC members across the constituency to work together to ensure victory for the party in the 2027 election.
An APC leader from Jakande Estate, who requested anonymity, also commended the party for producing Bankole as its candidate. The party leader urged all aggrieved members to embrace reconciliation and support the party’s flag bearer, stressing that unity would be essential to the APC’s success in the forthcoming election.
Across parts of Eti-Osa Constituency I, supporters expressed optimism that Bankole’s candidacy would usher in renewed grassroots engagement and issue-based representation. They urged the APC candidate to prioritise youth empowerment, infrastructure development, quality education, improved healthcare, security and other programmes capable of improving the living standards of residents.

The Merit Newspaper reports that political observers believe Bankole’s emergence has added fresh momentum to the political landscape in Eti-Osa Constituency I as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general election.
With his nomination now confirmed, Bankole is expected to commence broader consultations with party leaders, community stakeholders and residents as the APC begins full-scale mobilisation across the constituency.
